Question descriptioni’m trying to recreate the necklace my favorite video game character wears. it’s basically a clear red gem in a metal frame. first i tried epoxy mixed with fabric dye, but it came out rubbery and not see through. i asked a lady at my local craft store what else i could use, and she said triple thick clay gloss mixed with acrylic paint. when i added the paint, it turned pink, then when i added more it became not see through and it still hasn’t dried two days later. i did find resin, but it was almost $50, and i really don’t want to spend that much. is there another way i could tint the gloss, or is there another cheap material i could use? i also don’t have tools to cut/file down premade plastic or actual stones. if it helps for any reason, here is a picture of the necklace i want to make:http://img.gamespot.com/gamespot/images/2006/324/reviews/931852_20061121_screen004.jpg
